Scent work is an easy to learn activity for both you and your dog.
Your dog will learn to search for an item with a specific scent (generally clove scent, however if you have a preference for something else we can accommodate this), then indicate to you that they have found the item you are searching for.
Your job as your dog’s partner is to show them what area to search, to learn to read their natural indication and reward them for finding what you are looking for.
You can also teach them a clear indication such as holding their nose over the scent, sitting/ laying down when they find the scent, or touch the scent item with a paw.
All dogs, from short faced pugs, to long snouted Borzoi, have a sense of smell 40 times more sensitive than that of humans.
And they love to use it!
Any dog, of any breed (or mix), age or physical ability can enjoy scent work.
